Mexico is a party to the Hague Evidence Convention, and it permits the taking of voluntary depositions of U.S. citizens with no special requirements. However, if the witness is a Mexican or third country national, prior permission from the Mexican Central Authority for the Hague Evidence Convention is required. Depositions may be held at any hotel, office, or conference room in the country.
